So these double-decker buses started running in Rockland the other day.
They’ll serve Shortline commuters who travel from the Exit 14 commuter lot in Nanuet during peak hours – two runs in the morning and two in the evening. The buses, which feature Wi-Fi and outlets to plug in electronic devices, are also being used in Orange County and northern New Jersey.
The buses seat 79 passengers, or 20 more than the single-level buses.
We have multi-level trains running in Rockland, but these may be the first double-decker commuter buses to serve county residents.
