Track work will force off-peak Pascack Valley line train riders onto the bus this summer.
Starting July 13, buses will take the place of trains between Spring Valley and Secaucus Junction—or most of the length of the 33-mile line—from approximately 8:45 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Monday to Friday and all day on Saturdays and Sundays.
Riders will be able to connect to trains to New York Penn Station or Hoboken from Secaucus Junction.
The arrangement will be in place for six weeks, ending on Aug. 25, New Jersey Transit said today.
Having trains off the tracks will given NJ Transit workers the time, space and security needed to reconstruct grade crossings two locations in New Jersey—Westwood and Hackensack—as well as replace ties along the entire line and take care of other maintenance work.
More details and substitute bus schedules will be available at njtransit.com on or after June 29.
