A commuter emailed me a photo of this lengthy letter left for riders on Metro-North trains this evening.
Michael Kingsley of Hartsdale had this to say: “MNR communication is excellent. This is a little unnecessary but still nice. Or are they being extra nice because they’re asking for fare increases?”
The railroad gives a detailed explanation of why trains ran late this morning: Crushed fallen leaves get extra “slimy after it rains,” causing the rails to get slippery. As a result, trains had to reduce their speeds.
