[1]Motorists will be gobbling up the roads for Thanksgiving, with more than 39 million Americans expected to travel by car next week.
That makes up 90 percent of the 43 million people predicted to travel 50 miles or more during Thanksgiving week, according to AAA’s annual Thanksgiving travel survey. [2]
Though gas shortages and devastation remain the New York metro region, it’s not clear if that will alter people’s travel plans, said Robert Sinclair, spokesman for AAA New York. He noted that the survey was conducted several weeks ago.
“Thanksgiving is Grandma, Mom, and Dad—you are going to see family, for the most part,” Sinclair said. “Given that, the impact should be minimal I think.”
