UPDATE: The Thruway Authority now says the work will begin at 10:30 tonight.
Work a night shift? Get ready for a slow commute.
The state Thruway Authority is warning drivers that they might run into delays late tonight or very early this morning (depending on how you track time) between northbound Exit 15A in Sloatsburg and Exit 16 in Harriman.
There will be temporary lane closures from 12:01 a.m. 10:30 p.m. Monday and 3 a.m. Tuesday, which will result in multiple traffic stops lasting up to 20 minutes each time.
In other words, give yourself extra time to get where you’re going.
Electronic signs will update drivers about the expected delays during the night work.
The Thruway provides real-time information on its traffic conditions if you sign up for its TRANSalerts.
