The federal approval of the new Tappan Zee Bridge was the subject of a U.S. Department of Transportation blog post today.
As you probably know by now, the Federal Highway Administration issued the project’s record of decision on Tuesday.
A festive signing ceremony took place in South Nyack yesterday.
The “Fast Lane” blog noted the approval “brings the project one step closer to reality and brings area workers ones step closer to the jobs the projects will create.”
The post also features two renderings of what the new bridge could look like, although it appears to feature only one span.

They really need to put a train line right down the middle (or under it)of the bridge and carry it over 287 to Conn. It’s not like 287 is ever going to be finished anyway…
