There are a bunch of ways to make the daily trek to work, but if you live in LoHud, you’re probably commuting alone in your car, according to 2010 census data.
Do you wish you could travel a different way to work? What would be your ideal way?
Here’s what I found for Westchester, Rockland, and Putnam (I rounded the numbers up in some cases):
Westchester
60 percent of commuters travel in a car, truck, or van by themselves
21 percent take public transportation (excluding cabs)
8 percent carpool
5 percent walk (I would love that option!)
5 percent work at home
2 percent used other means (bike?)
Rockland
72 percent of commuters travel in a car, truck, or van by themselves
10 percent carpool
9 percent take public transportation
4 percent walk
4 percent work at home
2 percent used other means
Putnam
77 percent travel in a car, truck, or van by themselves
9 percent carpool
7 percent take public transportation
5 percent work at home
1 percent walk
1 percent used other means
